Music is therapy
Heal in community with the power of music.
Music is therapy
Heal in community with the power of music.
Heal in community with the power of music.
Heal in community with the power of music.

We use music, story, dance and guided practice to connect with our wounds in the healing power of community.
Welcome to The Injured Souls Session — an initiative dedicated to supporting the mental health of our community. In today’s world, many of us face emotional struggles without the tools or support we need to heal. This space was created to change that.
Drawing inspiration from Indigenous cultures, we bring together music, story, dance, and community — timeless elements used to nurture the wellbeing of the village. By weaving these principles into a modern setting, we offer a healing environment where people can reconnect, release, and rise.
The Injured Souls Session exists to create a sacred space for emotional healing through the timeless wisdom of Indigenous cultures. We blend music, story, and movement to reconnect people with their inner truth, their community, and the rhythms of life. Our mission is to offer soulful, trauma-informed experiences that honor the body, uplift the spirit, and remind every participant: you are not alone, and your pain is worthy of transformation.
Storytelling is a timeless tool for healing — it connects us, reminds us we’re not alone, and helps us make sense of our own experiences. When we hear another person’s story, especially one that echoes our own pain or longing, something shifts. We feel seen. We feel invited to heal.
A story is more than words —
it’s a bridge between souls,
a lantern in the dark
that says, “You’re not alone.”
When we hear another’s truth —
their ache, their lyric, their rising —
something ancient stirs within us.
We remember that healing is not a solo act.
In The Injured Souls Session,
we sit with artists as they unravel the threads
of a song, a verse, a memory.
They speak of sorrow, of survival,
of how pain became melody.
And in their telling,
we find permission to feel,
to soften,
to begin.
Each session includes a guided practice that gently invites participants to connect with a past experience that still carries emotional charge. This is done with deep care and compassion — never pushing, always honoring the pace of the nervous system.
We focus on memories that are activating but not overwhelming, allowing space for emotional discomfort to arise and move through the body. The goal is to build confidence in your ability to sit with what hurts — not to fix or bypass it, but to witness it, feel it, and let it soften.
You’ll leave with a practical technique you can return to again and again — a tool for emotional regulation, self-compassion, and embodied healing. And throughout the practice, you’ll be held in the presence of others, reminding you: healing doesn’t have to happen alone.

Hi, I’m Gavan Holland, founder of The Injured Souls Session — a healing initiative born from witnessing the growing mental health crisis and the deep frustration of those unable to find lasting relief. I’ve walked that path myself. After experiencing multiple traumatic events and struggling to access meaningful support, I embarked on a personal journey of self-healing.
For nearly 20 years, I’ve immersed myself in trauma-informed education, attending summits, workshops, and festivals that explore the mind-body connection. My qualifications span Fitness, Massage Therapy, Psychotherapy, and Nervous System Regulation. I’ve trained with Mindful Schools, become a certified Clear Beliefs Coach, and completed a 20-week intensive in Evolving Beyond Your Wounds. My work integrates Inner Child healing, Shadow and Parts work, and somatic awareness.
I believe music is medicine. It has the power to reach places words cannot — to soothe, awaken, and transform. The Injured Souls Session is a space where music, story, and community come together to support emotional healing. We witness each other. We hold space. We remember we’re not alone.
Research shows that trauma healing thrives in community — through shared rhythm, movement, and connection. That’s why I’ve partnered with musicians who’ve transmuted their own pain into powerful sound. Their music doesn’t just entertain — it resonates, it heals.
If you’re ready for therapy with a difference — soulful, embodied, and communal — you’re most welcome here.

Support Act is the music industry’s charity, delivering crisis relief services to musicians, managers, crew and music workers across all genres who are unable to work due to ill health, injury, a mental health problem or some other crisis. !
